Finally I have chance to post this. I’ve been waiting forever to share this one with you. Hubby also kept asking me when will I post this recipe 😛
I made these little treats as a surprise for hubby (as usual). I like to surprise him with sweets. Make me happy when he ate them all, and kind of crazy of them and ask me to make them again. It’s a good feeling 🙂
I got this recipe from this blog. Raiza is a good cook, she has nice recipes, and I adore her food pictures too. So nice, and because of her, now I’ve been wanting another standing mixer. I want orange Kitchen Aid this time 😛 But it has to wait of course, I have my awesome Kenwood Major now anyway. I love kitchen’s gadget 😛
As you can see here, the cups are edible too. They made from bitter sweet chocolate (dark chocolate). I used chocolate that contain 60 % cocoa in it. It has to be a good quality dark chocolate if you want to have good result.
One story behind the scene when I made this. It was snowing and very cold, and I had to make the cups from chocolate but I couldn’t just peel it in my kitchen. Too warm. So I had to go out to my balcony and peel all the papers from the chocolate. It waaaaaas coooooooold and my hands were red and freezing (I couldn’t put my warm and fuzzy gloves 😦 )I sat in my balcony for at least 30 minutes that time. Wasn’t very nice 😛 But then I saw hubby’s happy face when he saw these, it’s all paid off.
for chocolate cup
170g bittersweet chocolate (I used 60% cacao)
130g bittersweet chocolate
2 large egg yolks
2 tbs icing sugar
1 1/2 tbs water
1 cup cream
1/4 cup ground toasted hazelnuts
optional: chopped toasted hazelnuts on top or cacao powder
plus: mini cupcake paper liners
