Stir-fry Tempe & Water Spinach

Very common and cheap side dishes in Indonesia. Not so cheap over here though 😦 But it’s ok to spoil your self one in a while, right? πŸ˜›

I’m sure lots of you (if you are a vegetarian) knew about tempe. It’s made from soy beans. Really rich in protein. Good source to replace the protein you can get from meats.

We don’t do fancy things with it in Indonesia. Usually only deep fried, cook in coconut milk and stir-fry it. And very basic seasoning too, like garlic and coriander seed. Eat it with warm rice and chilli sauce can be a good food already πŸ™‚

I dunno what was hitting me that day. I made all 3 side dishes at the same day. It wasn’t me, really. I only cook 1 side dish most of then time. I always put meat and veggies at the same dish (remember that I’m a lazy cook :P), that way I don’t have to cook separate side dishes.. hehehe πŸ˜€

As for the water spinach, it is also very cheap in Indonesia. And to be honest, I’m not a big fan of water spinach. I rarely touched my mum’s stir-fry water spinach. So, again… I dunno what made me felt like eating water spinach on that day πŸ˜›
