Amazon is one of my favourite place to shop. Started using it since I was looking at baby’s toys. Because
everything children-related stuffs here in Sweden are so very expensive. So since then I like to browse cute, useful and affordable things (mostly my daughter’s toys and my kitchen friends).
I just received my package yesterday and haven’t had chance to try any of them. But I really am looking forward to try them.
The first thing I want to show you here is a cookie stamp. I consider this quite cheap for a cookie stamp with 4 different patterns. I’ve been wanting to have a cookie stamp for a while. But again, as usual, I think 1 stamp with 1 pattern cost SEK 129 is a bit too much. This one cost only SEK 85. Very cheap, eh? Was happy to found this. And I’m thinking to make shortbread or my husband’s grandma’s signature cookie and use this stamp on them. Will be cute! I will definitely share the result here.
Not that I don’t have cup measurements. I do. But 3 out of 4 have no handles. I broke 1. My daughter broke another 2 of them. Lol. A bit annoying when I have to use them. And then I saw these cuties. Aren’t they cute? The old one only have 1 cup, 1/2 cup, 1/3 cup and 1/4 cup. This set has 1, 3/4, 1/2, 2/3, 1/3 and 1/4 cup. I don’t really remember how much was the old set cost but I’m quite sure that this set is a little bit more pricey than the old one. But worth it. Now I can put these dolls on my kitchen table instead of hiding them in the drawer. Very useful decoration.
Next is spoon measurements and digital thermometer. Again, I have a set of spoon measurement as a part of my deciliter cup measurements (Swedish recipes always use deciliter, don’t ask me why, I have no idea). But they’re disappearing one by one. Only have 1 tsp and 1/2 tsp left. I don’t know where the rest of them gone to. And this set is a matching set with the cup measurements. The plastic also thick and feels sturdy. I like the feeling when I’m holding them. Doesn’t feel cheap and fragile.
Coming next is a digital thermometer (picture above). I had at least 3 or 4 digital thermometers when I was still working. Broken, gone, stolen, I don’t really know what exactly happened to them. After living without it for a while, now I have it back again. No guessing anymore if I want to make caramel-based sweets that require an exact temperature.
The last one here is a slow cooker. I know I’ve mentioned about airfryer in my previous Thursday Talk. And how much I wanted it. But after talking more about it with a friend of mine who owns an airfryer, I changed my mind. She said she bought an airfryer because her kitchen is too small so she couldn’t have an oven. And I was rethinking about it again. Airfryer is very expensive. Here in Sweden cost round SEK 1400. That’s quite a lot of money for a small machine. And I thought, all this time I’ve used my oven to bake foods that should have been fried. And the result is amazing. Why switch to an airfryer?
So I decided to get a slow cooker. Why? Because I hate waiting and keep an eye of foods that take hours to cook. Like Indonesian beef rendang or pulled chicken. With this machine I can just dump all the ingredients and it will do the job for me. And cooking in low heat for very long time also taste better. Because usually it produced very tender and succulent (meat) result.
It wasn’t easy at all to decide which slow cooker I have to get. This Breville brand has good reviews and also very affordable. Only SEK 290. I hope it will do its job properly. Will try it this weekend.
That’s all for an update from my kitchen. The photos are taken by my phone. Please excuse the quality.
