So where have I been again? Abandoned the blog for more than a week.
I got chicken pox. Yes, in my age. Yikes! How embarrassing!
Started with fever for 3 days and then one morning when I woke up my face already covered by rashes and blisters. No wonder the night before I couldn’t sleep from itch all over my face and head. Woke up every one hour from the itch attack. It wasn’t nice at all. Didn’t want to look at the mirror for a few days because I looked scary.
How bad was it?
Well, my husband had to stay 4 days from work to look after his girls (me and daughter), luckily we had a long weekend last week from Easter. He had to cook and clean while I was just staying in bed. Not much energy and useless. Also, last Sunday my husband’s grandma visited us. And she saw my photo (the one I use for my profile photo in about section on the right) and asked if it was me. She couldn’t even tell it was the same person. Sad…
Another embarrassing story. My daughter is always very shy in front of new people (aren’t we all like that?) including her teachers in her pre-school. Even though she’s been there for almost 3 years now. And today when I dropped her, her teacher told me that yesterday she talked to them about me having chicken pox and doctor gave me some medicine because my face covered by prickar (dots). Well, at least she has something to talk about with her teachers. My daughter can be very random sometimes, still cute though😀
Anyway… today’s post (don’t worry, I made this before I was sick) is oxtail soup. Some of you might find it disgusting and weird. But let me tell you, the tail has the kind of texture of meat that I like. Very nice. And the bones make the soup tasted very rich too. If you haven’t tried oxtail yet, give it a try, you might like it.
This time I was trying out my rice cooker to cook something other than rice. Yup! I cooked this with my rice cooker. I took me around 3 hours, about the same time if I cook it with a pot on the stove. The good thing is, I didn’t make a mess on the stove, so I don’t have to clean it after.
