Snapshots from Ridha’s Kitchen

blog collage

Hello December, hello everyone!

It’s pretty much a dead blog is it not? Please blame it on my pregnancy hormones. They make my brain slower, mood swings, not to mention other unexpected things. This time is definitely slightly more difficult compare to my first pregnancy. Just hoping I won’t have a slightly more difficult delivery too.

Anyway, I really am sorry for letting the blog abandoned like this for long time now. Even though we still have around 11 weeks until our new family member arrives, but I’ve been reading a lot about baby stuffs than I ever did with our first daughter (long story). I spent around a week (for one item) doing research and reading reviews and everything before deciding on which one to buy. That’s how I spent my time in front of computer lately (more like on my tablet and lay down on the bed, I dislike sitting in front of computer since being pregnant).

I actually have tried out so many new recipes (mostly Indonesian foods and snacks). But I don’t have the mood and patience to take photo of them (beside, I’m still relying on husband for the photos, and I feel bad asking him to do stuffs when he’s already help around with house chores a lot, and no, I still have no interest on learning how to take good photos and editing them). So.. To avoid all the troubles, I’m going to post some of the recipes I’ve made long long long time ago (seriously, they’ve been waiting like forever in my folder).

But today to make up all the quiet time here, I’ll share some snapshots from my kitchen. What I’ve done in the last couple of weeks.

nutella bread

You can use any recipes for the bread. I just think the shape is pretty and wanted to try it out. Should have pinched the edges to make it prettier. Maybe next time 😉

Strawberry cake

Strawberry cake

Just another strawberry shortcake. Tried out new sponge cake recipe but still not very happy about it. I’ve shared with you how I want my sponge to taste like before.

Now, prepare yourself for slightly crappy photos taken by me with my phone (hoping husband won’t see this post, otherwise he’ll be like “sigh”) 😛

bolu sakura

There are several types of steamed caramel cakes in Indonesia. This one called Bolu Sakura. And it always made in this shape (no idea why). Super easy and quick to make. Hoping I have chance to make it again sometime soon and take proper photos, so I can share the recipe with you.

roti manis

Just like the title. These are literally sweet breads 😛 Me and my daughter had fun making these though. I took out all of my cookie cutters, and she had fun picking different shapes for the breads. And put tons of sugar, sprinkles, chocolates, etc etc.

onde-onde

These are fried glutinous rice ball with sesame seeds and mung bead paste filling. Shortcut name, Onde-onde. So happy when they turned out nice, and none of them popped during frying (which is a common problem). Again, hoping to make this and take proper photos so I can share the recipe with you.

terang bulan

I’ve made this pancake before (recipe in the blog but I need to edit that). The tricky part is to get the “holes” (air pocket). Will edit the recipe as soon as I can and share the tips too 🙂

ginger bread house

The most recent project with daughter. I always wanted to try decorating ginger bread house. So I made everything and this is the result 😀

egg noodle

My first project using my new kitchen friend, pasta machine. Definitely sooooooo much time saved using the machine than hand cut it. And it looks nicer too. Maybe I can start selling egg noodle? 😛

There are actually more photos in my phone, but I don’t think they’re that “presentable”.

So, there you have it. I hope it’s enough to make up for the time I’ve been away from the blog.

Until next time 🙂
